BIOGRAPHY

American conductor Tyler Gordon is a dynamic musician immersed in the vibrant music scene of Las Vegas, Nevada. His musical journey spans across roles as a conductor, bassist, and violist, establishing him as a regular performer in several ensembles across the west coast.

 

Tyler is currently the Assistant Conductor of the Las Vegas Sinfonietta as well as the Music Director of its newly formed Academy Orchestra. Tyler is also the Orchestra Director at the College of Southern Nevada and the Chamber Orchestra director at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. Dedicated to bringing classical music to the community, Tyler is the assistant conductor of the Henderson Symphony Orchestra, one of Nevada’s premiere community orchestras as well as the Director of the Dessert Roots: Rising Stars Festival Orchestra.

 

As a guest conductor, Tyler has collaborated with a variety of performing organizations. His recent engagements include the Northern Nevada String Serenade in Reno Nevada, leading Vegas City Opera in productions of La Belle et la Bête by Philip Glass and Sergei Prokofiev’s The Love for Three Oranges, as well as conducting Firebird Light Opera in their production of Johann Strauss II’s Die Fledermaus also in Reno, Nevada. 

 

Tyler pursued his musical education at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in double bass performance under Professor Brycen Ingersoll as well as a master’s degree in orchestral conducting under Professor Taras Krysa.
